From The Bahamas with Love: Inside the 5-Day Immersive Experience That Changed How I Plan Destination Weddings
Five days, five islands, and a deeper understanding of why The Bahamas remains one of the world's most extraordinary wedding destinations.
There are trips that fill your camera roll, and then there are experiences that reshape the way you see your own craft. The "From The Bahamas with Love" symposium was, without question, the latter. As one of the wedding professionals and travel advisors invited from across the globe, I spent five immersive days island-hopping through The Bahamas not as a tourist, but as a planner and travel advisor being given the rare gift of experiencing a destination the way I'd want my clients to feel it.
Organized by The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation Romance Department in partnership with the Bahamas Bridal Association, this year experience was designed to do something beautifully simple: let the islands speak for themselves. And speak they did.
Where the Journey Took Me
Our itinerary read like a love letter to the diversity of the Bahamian islands. Each stop revealed a completely different personality and an entirely new palette of possibilities for couples dreaming of a destination celebration.
What struck me most was how each island offered something that no brochure could capture — a feeling. The warmth of the people, the rhythm of the culture, the way the light hits the water differently on every shore. These are the intangible details that elevate a destination wedding from beautiful to transcendent.

The Symposium & Marketplace
Beyond the island excursions, the symposium itself brought together international wedding planners and Bahamian romance industry professionals for meaningful connection and collaboration. The mini-marketplace allowed us to meet local vendors, florists, venues, and experience providers face to face building the kind of relationships that you simply cannot forge over email.
For me, as both a Destination Wedding Planner and a Certified Travel Advisor, this was invaluable. My dual lens means I'm not just thinking about centerpiece heights and ceremony backdrops I'm thinking about the entire journey. The airport arrival. The welcome dinner location. The excursion that brings the wedding party closer together before the big day. The Bahamas delivers on every single one of those moments.
